An important letter I received was an acceptance letter from a university. It arrived by post when I was finishing secondary school, and I still remember seeing the university logo on the envelope.

The letter was sent by the admissions office. I had applied several months earlier and had been waiting for the result, so I was looking forward to hearing from them but also felt nervous. My parents were at home when I opened it.

The first line said that I had been offered a place on the course I wanted. I read it several times because I wanted to make sure I had understood correctly. The letter also explained the starting date, the documents I needed to send and the deadline for confirming my place. I immediately showed it to my parents, and we spent the evening talking about accommodation, travel and what university life might be like. It was the first time the next stage of my life felt real.

The letter meant a lot to me because it marked a turning point. It gave me confidence and a clear direction after school. Even though most official messages are digital now, I still remember the feeling of holding that piece of good news in my hands.

A time I had a problem with a computer was last year while I was working on an important report at home. I had already spent several hours editing it when the laptop suddenly froze.

I was using a word-processing program and had several browser tabs open at the same time. The computer had been running slowly, but I ignored it because I wanted to finish the report before dinner. Unfortunately, I had not saved the latest section for quite a while.

At first, I waited because I hoped the program would respond again. After a few minutes, nothing changed, so I had to restart the laptop. I was worried that I had lost almost an hour of work. When the computer started again, the program offered to recover an unsaved document. I opened the recovered version and found that most of the missing text was still there. I immediately saved it under a new name and also uploaded a copy to cloud storage. Then I closed unnecessary tabs and finished the report without another problem.

I felt extremely relieved because I only lost a few sentences. I definitely learned my lesson. Now I save documents more often and back up regularly, especially when I am working on something important.

A website I visit very often is YouTube. It is mainly a video platform, but I use it for much more than entertainment because it has content about study, technology, travel and practical skills.

I first started using the website regularly when I was a student. Friends shared music videos and funny clips with me, but over time I discovered educational channels as well. Since then, it has become one of the websites I open almost every day.

I usually visit it to search for tutorials, watch short explanations or keep up with channels I have subscribed to. For example, when I recently wanted to learn a new spreadsheet feature, I found a ten-minute video that showed the process step by step. I paused the video, tried each action and solved the problem much faster than by reading a long manual. At other times, I watch interviews, documentaries or travel videos when I want to relax.

I return so often because the website offers a wide range of content and the search function is convenient. The recommendations are not always useful, but if I choose carefully, the platform can be both practical and entertaining.

A useful website I visit is the Cambridge Dictionary website. I mainly use it when I am studying English and need to check the meaning, pronunciation or usage of a word.

I first found the website through a teacher who recommended using a learner's dictionary instead of relying only on translation. Since then, I have used it several times a week, especially when reading or writing in English.

The website gives definitions in simple English, pronunciation audio, word forms and example sentences. I often look a word up when I understand the general meaning but am unsure how it fits naturally into a sentence. Recently, I checked the word “challenge” because I wanted to know which prepositions and verbs commonly appear with it. The examples helped me notice useful patterns, and I then used one of them correctly in a paragraph. I also like being able to hear both British and American pronunciation.

I like the website because reliable language information is available at my fingertips. It helps me learn more independently and reduces the chance of choosing a word that has the right translation but the wrong usage.

An app I find very useful is a note-taking app on my phone. I use it to write quick ideas, make checklists and save information that I do not want to forget.

I started using it seriously after a colleague showed me how he organised work tasks in separate lists. Before that, I often wrote reminders on pieces of paper or sent messages to myself, which was not very organised.

The app is simple. I create a new note, give it a short title and add text, links or a checklist. For important tasks, I can set a reminder. The notes also sync across devices, so something I write on my phone can appear later on my laptop or tablet. I use one list for shopping, another for work ideas and another for things I need to prepare before travelling. Last month, a packing checklist helped me remember a charger and an important document that I might otherwise have left at home.

The app is useful because it helps me keep track of small details and stay organised without much effort. It is not advanced technology, but it saves time and reduces the mental effort of trying to remember everything.
